Cancellation & Returns Policy

Overview

PenProof offers digital subscription plans for our browser extension. Because our product is a digital service (not a physical good), traditional "returns" do not apply. However, we want every customer to be satisfied, so we offer a straightforward cancellation and refund policy.

7-day money-back guarantee

All paid plans (Basic and Pro) come with a 7-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your subscription for any reason, contact us within 7 days of your first payment and we will issue a full refund — no questions asked.

How to request a refund

  • Email us at hello@penproof.dev with the email address you used to subscribe.
  • Alternatively, use our contact form and select "Billing / subscription" as the subject.
  • Include your subscription email so we can locate your account.
  • Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and returned to your original payment method.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Here's how:

  • Log in to your billing portal (link provided in your subscription confirmation email).
  • Click "Cancel subscription".
  • Your plan remains active until the end of your current billing period.
  • After cancellation, your account reverts to the free tier — you will not lose access immediately.

What happens after cancellation

  • You retain access to all paid features until the end of your current billing cycle.
  • Once the billing period ends, your account switches to the free tier (10 scans per hour).
  • Your scan history and device link are preserved — you can re-subscribe at any time to restore paid access.
  • No further charges will be made after cancellation.

Refunds after the 7-day window

After the initial 7-day guarantee period, we generally do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. However, if you believe there are exceptional circumstances (e.g. you were charged after cancelling, or experienced a service outage), please contact us and we will review your case.

Yearly subscriptions

Yearly plans are billed as a single upfront payment. The 7-day money-back guarantee applies from the date of purchase. After 7 days, yearly subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can cancel to prevent renewal at the end of the year.

Free tier

The free tier requires no payment and no cancellation. Simply uninstall the extension if you no longer wish to use PenProof. No data deletion request is needed — your anonymous device identifier is stored locally and is removed when you uninstall.
